Nick Mears currently leads product marketing initiatives as Principal Solutions Marketing Manager at BMC Software, a multinational software company, leading global product marketing initiatives for AI-powered, DevOps and data management focused enterprise-grade solutions that increase the reliability, resiliency, availability, and release velocity of mission-critical applications.

Nick previously led product marketing initiatives at Micro Focus. This included solution product marketing responsibilities for ALM Octane, UFT One and UFT Developer, as well as ValueEdge. Solution focus benefited Agile teams and DevOps toolchains with integrated planning, continuous integration, test automation / management, and release management. Nick was part of the Application Delivery Management product marketing team at Micro Focus, one of the largest pure play software companies in the world, which has since been acquired by Open Text. 

Nick previously led product marketing efforts for Macola Software, specializing in ERP-based software and located in Dublin, Ohio. Macola was  a division of Exact, an international software company. Nick Mears conducted market analysis, segmentation and related activities as well as identified key market segments with business opportunity. He also profiled the buying behavior, business drivers and critical characteristics of those market segments to translate into compelling value propositions and positioning. Accomplishments include:

• Assess competitive products and activities, create compelling messaging that connects with direct customers and enables partners to effectively communicate the brand and product value prop, develop product positioning and marketing assets to support lead generation and sales teams in the AIDA cycle, support product launch including website materials, email marketing, social media content, blog posts, videos, articles and press releases
• Engage existing customers to create success stories, case studies and other materials to serve as social proof of Exact Macola's value
• Lead marketing plan at customer conference and other pertinent trade shows
• Conduct win/loss analysis and compile reports showing strengths and weaknesses. Review with Product Management and make data-driven suggestions for product improvements
